Niger Sets Up Schools for Married Women Drop-Outs

 The Niger State Commissioner for Education, Danladi Abdulhamid has said the state government has established 16 secondary schools in the state that will cater for girls who dropped out from schools because of marriage.

The Commissioner made the statement yesterday in Salka village during Kambari ethnic day, saying the schools were primarily established to provide opportunity for these category of married women and that plans were underway to establish more of such schools.

He said the wisdom behind the married women secondary school is to encourage girl-child education, adding that from next year, the state woud supply female students with free uniforms.

The Chairman of All Kambari Progressive Association (AKAP), Danladi Baba Salka said this year's Kambari Day was the third in the series, adding that the idea for the celebration of the Day was to enhance unity among all Kambari speaking people across the country.
