CETAG Concludes Emergency Meeting On Nationwide Strike

The National Council of the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana, CETAG, has concluded an emergency meeting to decide on whether or not to call of its strike.

The teachers, who have been on strike since last week, were ordered by the National Labour Commission to call off the strike which the Commissions says is illegal and premature.

The teachers went on strike over what they say is the seemingly slow pace at which the National Council for Tertiary Education and the Ministry of Education, have been working to bring their condition of service to a tertiary status.

We have on the line the National Secretary of CETAG Prince Obeng Himah to tell us the decision reached by the teachers.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Minister in Charge of tertiary education, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has reacted to concerns raised by the teachers and other related matters.
