Madam Adjoba Kyiamah, the Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs at the ABCL, who presented the cheque, commended the AMA for the initiative.
She said the ABCL hopes the donation would go a long way to benefit school children and promised to further support the AMA in the coming years.
Dr. Alfred Oko Vanderpuye, Mayor of Accra, who received the cheque, thanked ABCL for the kind gesture and urged other organizations to emulate the gesture.
He said the 90th Millennium City Schools Project would be built at Gbgegbeyise, in the Ablekuma West District of the Greater Accra Region, and that, it would be a disability friendly project.
“We are doing all these to change what is happening in the educational system now in the country, we want all the children in Ghana to have access to good education and to better their lives”.
Dr Oko Vanderpuye said they would introduce a comprehensive technology approach in the schools to ensure that all children have access to the Internet, adding that, the schools would have conference rooms for the staff and a computer laboratory, among others.
