Synergy University Dubai Official Opening |
“Today, Synergy University is adding another academic facility to serve the community and business market as well,” Ziad Maleh, ViceChancellor International for Synergy University, told Gulf News.
“It is the first branch in the Middle East and we are looking to build a bigger campus for the university in the same area in the future.”
On the choice of this location, Maleh said; “It will help to serve the JLT community better as well as the service provided by DMCC will also make the lives of our students better.”
There is a demand in Dubai for such a university as it will not only attract the Russians in Dubai but also CIS, Middle East and Levant students.
While the current number of registered student is 40 so far the university is able to cater to over 300 students.
Synergy University is Russia’s largest and most advanced private university with more than 35,000 students, accommodating seven faculties and 55 academic departments through 40 regional offices across Russia and the CIS. The university’s main campus is in Moscow. Synergy University has offices and operations in London, Singapore and China. The university’s latest international footprint is its fully-fledged branch campus at the DMCC Free Zone in Dubai.
Dr Abdullah Al Karam, Chairman of Knowledge and Human Development Authority, told Gulf News that this university is accredited by KHDA and the Ministery of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
“This business university is in line with the current business activities in this cluster,” he said.
The university will serve the interest of our communities and business environment in general, he added.
Ahmad Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman, DMCC, said: “Synergy University choosing to open its first campus in the Middle East in Dubai’s Jumeirah Lakes Towers demonstrates the emirate’s position as a prime destination for business, tourism and education. As the largest and fastest growing free zone in the UAE with over 7,400 businesses and 75,000 people working and living here, the DMCC Free Zone offers the ideal environment and infrastructure to learn and develop new skills. We look forward to the opportunities Synergy’s first fully-fledged international campus will bring to Dubai.”
Synergy University has selected bachelors and masters programmes for its Dubai campus that cater to local demand and range from hotel management and hospitality to global economy and a women’s-only MBA — the first of its kind in the region. The university is also cooperating with local businesses to ensure that students are able to gain relevant work experience during their time in Dubai, said Professor Yury Rubin, Rector, Synergy University
