PTA Hand Over 58 Seater Bus To Akumadan SHS in Ashanti Region

The Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of Akumadan Senior High School in the Offinso North District of the Ashanti Region has presented a 58 seater bus to the school in a colourful ceremony held at the school at Akumadan, at cost about GH¢170 thousand Ghana cedis.

In an address, the chairman of the PTA Mr Daniel Jatoe expressed the determination of the PTA to continue to provide infrastructural needs of the school to ensure that quality education was brought to the doorsteps of the students as a way of addressing the vicious cycle of poverty facing the people in the community.

He further pointed out that if the Youth must be empowered to be independent, the provision of quality education should was key in that direction. The PTA chairman stressed the need for both Presents and school authorities to put in place mechanisms to maintain the few facilities in the school.

He therefore appealed to government; benevolent bodies as well as traditional authorities to come to the aid of the school to complete the uncompleted structures to enable the school accommodate teachers and students to make teaching and learning accessible.

The Headmaster of the school, Mr Akwasi Agyapong-Ntra who praised the academic performance of the school for the past four years said  authorities were not leaving any stone unturned and would continue  to improve on the academic, infrastructural and sporting prowess of the school to make it a model Senior High school in the Offinso North District.

Touching on the challenges of the school, Mr Agyapong-Ntra stated that the school lacked an assembly hall, an administrative block and staff accommodation and appealed to government and other corporative bodies to come to the aid of the school to enable it function well.

In address read on his behalf, the Regional Director of Education, Mr Kofi Sarfo Kantanka commended the PTA for its immense contribution to the development of the school and the improvement of their wards education and entreated them to consider the education of their children a top priority
