Saudi Arabia To Spend $41.586m On Girls' College Building

Al-Baha University has awarded projects worth SR156 million to establish 10 buildings for girls’ colleges to develop quality education in the Kingdom.

“These projects are implemented under the directive of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah, who has ordered that urgent solutions be found to the poor state of girls’ colleges in the Kingdom,” said Saad bin Mohammad Al-Hariqi, Al-Baha University rector.

The government allocated SR204 billion for the education sector in its 2013 budget. The aim of the government is to enhance the quality of education in the Kingdom with the collaboration of international universities and exchange scientific and academic experience, Al-Hariqi said.

The government is also focusing on local institutions to work out study programs that give students opportunities to balance their academic experiences with their career goals.

The government enhances university faculties for the effective development of student skills.

Al-Hariqi added that the aim of Al-Baha University is to provide distinguished and comprehensive higher education, research, community service and lifelong learning environment through the utilization of the available resources to achieve the best result possible.
