The university's vice chancellor Prof Richard Mibey on Saturday said they are excited with the development. "Such programmes will make our country ready for future needs especially with the discovery of oil and minerals which necessitates the need for smaller aircrafts,"he said.
The university has about 70 students in the training programme who when graduating will acquire a Commercial Pilot License alongside a degree in Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Sciences and Operations. Mibey said the university intends to start programmes on aircraft maintenance and repair.
