Jigawa Gov't To Sponsor 240 For Masters, PHD Programmes

Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State has approved the training of 240 indigenes of the state with good first degrees within and outside the country.

This was disclosed to newsmen at the weekend by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Haruna Wakili.

He said the programme was designed to train indigenes with good degrees for Masters and PhDs in medical sciences, natural and physical sciences, ICT, pharmaceutical sciences, languages, management sciences and education, adding that the programme was divided into three phases starting from this year to 2015.

The commissioner said government decided to sponsor the programme as part of its efforts to develop staff capacity and secure the future of the new university and other tertiary institutions in the state.
