Drunk Student Falls To Death From Balcony

Drunk Student
A STUDENT died on Monday morning after sustaining injuries from a fall in Nasinu.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the deceased had returned drunk on Friday morning and allegedly lost his balance while sitting on the railings, falling seven to 10 metres.

He was subsequently rushed to Colonial War Memorial Hospital but died from injuries during an operation on Monday morning.

Ms Naisoro said an investigation into the incident had now commenced.

"People are once again being advised to exercise caution during and after drinking parties, considering their judgement and decision-making capabilities will be affected," said Ms Naisoro.

Meanwhile, police yesterday discovered the body of a man believed to be in his 20s floating in the Naselai waters.

Ms Naisoro said a group of youths discovered the body and alerted the police.

The deceased, who was reported missing by his brother last week, was identified by relatives.

Investigations are continuing
