NANS Member Protest Against NANS President |
Other members of the exco including its national assistant secretary general Ali Abdullahi Mohammed, the national sports director, Talib Abubakar Gumel, the director of travels and exchange, Olusegun Oyebisi while briefing newsmen in Abuja yesterday, said the national president did not consult with any of them before making the statement on behalf of the association.
The students said as far as they are concerned students do not remain neutral in the matter as the federal government nor are the striking workers acting in the best interest of students by carrying out the strike.
Mohammed who spoke on behalf of the other exco members said it is wrong for the national president to say that they are backing the federal government on the issue when it is clear that both parties did not take the students into consideration before and during the strike.
He said for the national president to have gone to the extent of involving NANS in the issue of Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the President, shows that he has other motives for speaking on the issue rather than concern for students.
Mohammed said students have no business with the issue as it remains a matter between the governor and the president adding that they have never heard either Amaechi or Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa saying they are interested in running as president.
