The College of Asmara Health Science graduated 347 students

College of Asmara Health Science, Hamelmalo Agricultural College and Adi-Keih College of Arts and Social Sciences Graduate 811 Students With Degree and Diploma in Ophthalmology, Dentistry, Laboratory Technician, General Health Services, Physiotherapy, Pharmacy and Nursing.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Anma Nur-Husein, Minister of Health, indicated that the Orota School of Medicine, Orota College of Post-Graduate, and Asmara College of Health Science have been established aimed at satisfying the growing demand of health services and that graduates from the colleges are providing health services assigned to different areas in the country.

She further pointed out that the Asmara College of Health Science has been improving from time to time in its provision of training and that it is playing significant role in producing health professionals. She also urged the members of the graduating batch to supplement the knowledge they have acquired through work exposure for better professional competence

Likewise, Dr. Berhane Girmai, Assistant Dean of the college, explained that the college is providing 8 disciplines in degree programs and 7 in diploma, and that currently 1877 students are enrolled, and that is an increase of 17% compared with the previous academic year.

A representative of the graduates expressed his colleagues' readiness to diligently serve the society.

From the graduates Mr. Yohannes Berhe, Ms. Afrah Mohammed Suleiman commended the Government and people for investing on them heavily and that they would work hard to ensure the health of the society.

In a similar event, the Hamelmalo College of Agriculture graduated 201 students with degree and 177 students with diploma in Agro-Economics, Agricultural Engineering Agronomy, Animal Science, Crop Protection and Land and Environment out of which 120 are female students.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Semere Amlesom, Dean of the College, indicated that there is future program to incorporate additional post-graduate programs and that staff members of the college are pursuing post graduate and doctorate education in India, Kenya and Japan universities.

Mr. Arefaine Berhe, Minister of Agriculture, on his part explained the significance of the role of Agricultural experts play at the time in which the Government is exerting efforts to ensure food security, and called on the graduating batch to supplement the knowledge they have acquired through work exposure for better professional competence.

The representative of the graduates commended the heavy investment made by the Government and expressed readiness to live up to expectations.

Likewise, The Adi-Keih College of Arts and Social Science graduated on 29 June 66 students with degree and 20 with diploma programs in Geography, History, Archeology, Journalism, Sociology as well as Literature and Language.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Semere Russom, Minister of Education, indicated that the Government is working hard to develop institutional capacity of the colleges.

Dr. Okbagebriel Beraki, Dean of the college, explained that the college is graduating students for the third time since establishment and that the area in which the college is established is suitable for conducting researches and developing creativity. He further said that as part of the endeavor to develop the capacity of the college 20 staff members are abroad for masters and doctorate programs.
