“The agreement follows a directive from Deputy Foreign Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, who is also president of the board of trustees of the fund, to equip young business entrepreneurs and benefit from their business talents in addition to understanding their problems,” said Abdul Aziz Al-Motairy, director general of the Centenary Fund.
The agreement is in line with the aspirations of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to open new channels of communication and dialogue with different cultures. In this respect, the cooperation agreement with Sorbonne University is significant as it is one of the major cultural centers in the world, said Al-Motairy.
“Development in the Kingdom is based on attracting knowledge in diverse fields with Saudi youngsters at its center. The government is striving to provide him opportunities for effective participation in the nation’s building with special care to adhere to the Islamic and Saudi cultural heritage. The fund is one of the leading establishments of the government to implement this goal,” he said.
“Sorbonne University officials are convinced of the potentials and efficiency of the fund and its role in supporting youth activities,” said Al-Motairy. “The fact that the fund has been selected for the university’s partnership highlights the fund’s leadership in the field of entrepreneurship not only in the Kingdom but also in the region and the world,” he said.
The agreement aims to explore possibilities of cooperation to exchange expertise and information related to career guidance, studies, continuing education and training, he said.
Al-Motairy said the fund would take steps to improve the performance level of its staff through special training programs.
