Nigerian Law School Class Honours 39 Alumni
The Nigerian Law School 1984 set has honoured 39 members who have distinguished themselves in various fields of endeavour.

While handing over the plaques to the honorees, Director General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr Mamman Tahir, said a rigorous criteria has being adopted for selecting all the "best performing sets of the school."

Earlier in his welcome address, Hon Emmanuel Jime, member representing Makurdi-Guma Federal Constituency observed that it is now 29 years since they left the Law School. He therefore urged the members to use the opportunity of the get-together to renew old relationships and "forge new partnerships".

The beneficiaries of the award are: Nuhu Ribadu, former EFCC chairman, Representatives Debo Ologumagba, A.R. Kadir, Nimi Walson-Jack, Frank Olohor, Agunwa Anaekwe and Emmanuel Jime.

Others are senior advocates of Nigeria: Okey Wali, Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President; Omoniyi Omoruwa, Yemi Candido-Johnson, Tayo Jegede, Uche Nwokedi, Mike Igbokwe, Dafe Akpodeya and Segun Jegede,of the United Nations.Justice Kashim Zanna, BornoChief Judge; Justice Kate Abiri, Bayelsa Chief Judge; Court of Appeal Justices Mohammed Ambi- Usu Danjuma, Chima Nweze, Theresa Ngolika Orji and Isaiah Olufemi Akeju.

Ibrahim Shema, Governor of Katsina, Ahmed Ali Gulak, Special Adviser to the President, Political; former Senators Effiong Bob and Abubakar Sodangi; Bukhari Bello, former Executive Secretary NHRC; Amb assador Haziz Garuba, former Permanent Secretary and Ambassador to Canada.

Muktar Sarkin Yaki Bello, former JTF Commander and GOC 2nd Division and Director Anti-Terrorism in the NSA office; Maxwell Gidado, former Adviser Vice President on Constitution; Major General Ovo Adekhegba, Defence Headquarters; Ken Njemanze and Osagie Obayuwana Attorney Generals of Imo and Edo States; and Jalal Arabi, SSA to the President on Legal Matters.

From the academia there are: Professors Musa Sanda, Layi Oladele, Ibrahim Zailani, Yemisi Bamgbose, Ijaodola and Dr Tahir Mamman, DG Law School.

The forum was also used to inaugurate a new executive headed by Dr Tahir Mamman with Mrs Stella Peters as deputy.
