Nasarawa State University |
NUC granted full accreditation to 20 courses - mostly in education, sciences and social sciences - during its April visit to the school. Law, Agriculture, alongside three others, Arts and five Education courses were granted interim accreditation, according to a letter from the commission in June to the school.
While full accreditation is valid for five years, interim accreditation status is valid for two years after which the commission revisits the school. Programmes earning interim status two consecutive times are automatically denied and student admission banned.
In a statement, the forum said the school's transformation was helped under the vice chancellorship of Prof Shamsudeen Amali.
The forum's president Salome John said Amali's "wealth of experience" in management of human and material resource helped transform Nasarawa state university into a world class learning centre.
