Ghanaian Schools Win Magazine's Ecowas Educational Awards

Two Ghanaian schools, Great Lamptey-Mills and Ideal College, Accra have won the Nigeria-based ECOWAS Educational Recognition award organised by Revelation International Magazine.

At the award ceremony held in Lagos, the magazine's General Editor, Paul Bassey, said the choice of the two Ghanaian schools alongside Nigeria-based Cambridge College, Lagos was in tandem with the international status of the annual award.

Bassey said the selection of the three awards was based purely on merit and outstanding performances not on monetary benefits.

The editor added that some of the criteria listed for the award of honours include: school environment, facilities, quality of teaching staff, quality of external results, placement of students in tertiary institutions, innovation and corporate governance.

Great Lamptey-Mills School received the award as the most sustained educational institute in spirituality, sport and academic excellence while Ideal College, Accra emerged as the ECOWAS best remedial educational institute.

Cambridge College won Most Friendly Teachers' Award in ECOWAS sub-region.
