A total of 136 students graduated from the Capital Science Academy (CSA) in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) over the weekend at a well attended ceremony.
In his welcome address, the principal of the academy, Mr Peter McLeod, thanked the parents for entrusting the care and education of their children in their hands and advised the parents to support and listen to the graduands, now that they were older and wiser than the time they were brought to the academy.
"They will certainly make some mistakes, but with the support of their families, the sky is the limit, I asked you the students to join me in thanking your parents for all the support they have and will continue to give you," he said.
He advised the graduands not to allow themselves to be discouraged, saying that there are many ways of approaching situations.
The principal reminded them that the graduates of the academy have been making the institution proud by performing excellently in many universities at home and abroad.
The guest speaker at the occasion and Secretary to the Kano State Government, Engr. Rabiu Suleman, congratulated the school for the milestone it has attained in the advancement of education and the overall development of the academy in many aspects.
He reminded the graduands that their graduation from Secondary School marks the beginning of an important phase in their lives, when they will start making good decisions that will shape their future.
Awards were given to outstanding students in various subjects as well as other excellence awards. Egede Precious Nkem emerged the overall best students of the school, while Saine Bashir came second and Abu Ali Halima Zuyali emerged over all third best.
