The University of Namibia (Unam) Maltas Club embarked on a three day motivational tour to the Omaheke Region last week, to try and bridge the gap between the school and the university career.

According to Wilfred April, the club's Co-ordinator, this three day tour was the perfect platform for Maltas Members to prepare the Grade 10 and 12 learners for the November examinations so that they develop a very positive mental attitude, and to provide learners with a platform to express their fears about the examinations and offer guidance. "The club once again reminded the learners that it really does not matter where you come from, if you have a dream, follow it and never look back," says April.

In addition the Nature Friends Safaris representative, David Tjivava, donated books for the C. Heuva Secondary School library to the value of N$8000. The two schools that were visited by the club were the C. Heuva Secondary School in Rietfontein and the Mokganedi Tlhabanelo Secondary School in Drimiopsis.

The principals of these respective schools expressed their appreciation and gratitude and noted that it is their sincere hope that this will not be the first and last time the Club visit their schools. Maltas is a club operating under Unam as an umbrella body that promotes academic excellence.
