UI Inaugurates Scholarship for First Class Graduates
The University of Ibadan has inaugurated an automatic scholarship for its First Class graduates with N48 million incurred on the beneficiaries for the 2012/13 academic session, its Vice Chancellor, Professor Isaac Folorunso Adewole, has said.

The gesture, according to the VC, is to ensure that the best brains are given the opportunity to annex their potentials and also engender a systemic regeneration of best scholars.

He said in Ibadan while delivering his mid-term report to the university community that the institution benefited from Federal Government increased capital allocation of N1.6 billion in 2011 for the completion of Ajibode annex and improvement in energy supply to the premier university.

The Vice Chancellor stated that in order to enhance staff human capital development, the University Senate approved N67 million as research grants to facilitate participation at local and international conferences.

He also said the administration had invested in the improvement of teaching and learning through establishment of Directorate of Quality Assurance, renovation of lecture theatres and construction of new ones and 24 hour library service to enable students to study for their programmes despite the daunting challenges.
