Multimedia University College Closed Over Fee Snags
The Multimedia University College of Kenya was closed indefinitely after the students went on rampage and blocked Magadi road. The students said that they were angered by the managements move to send away all students who had fee balances.

On Tuesday, the students blocked Magadi road after a meeting they held with the management did not result into an agreement.

"The Academic Registrar Livingstone Ngoo said that he is giving every student who has a fee balance an academic leave. Ngoo insists that all those with fee balances must go home and come back only when they have money," said a student who requested anonymity for fear of being victimised by the management.

On Tuesday, the students who had blocked Magadi road were dispersed by anti riot police officers from Langata police station.

"After we were dispersed on Tuesday, we resolved to hold another meeting with the management and try to convince them that we will pay the fee. However Ngoo was rude to us and he told us that even if we try whatever means, we must go home. He said he doesn't care and even if we are in school or not, he will still be paid," added another student.

Yesterday, the students went on the rampage again and blocked Magadi road. Anti riot police officers lobbed teargas at them in a bid to clear the road.

Transport to and from Ongata Rongai Town was paralysed. The University Senate latter issued the students with letters asking them to leave the University until further notice.
