ADU Enterprise launches its tenth course on ‘Starting a Business’

Abu Dhabi University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (ADU Enterprise) is set to launch its tenth course of the entrepreneurship training program “Starting a business” for the first time on the University’s Al Ain campus on the 16th of June. Offered in collaboration with the CISCO Entrepreneur Institute, the innovative course aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills they need to transform their creative ideas into successful small or medium enterprises that will contribute to the growth and development of Abu Dhabi’s knowledge-based economy.

Stressing the success of the program, Dr. Nabil Ibrahim Chancellor of Abu Dhabi University explained that since its inception, the “Starting a business” course has received a lot of interest from aspiring entrepreneurs. “Over 100 young entrepreneurs have graduated from this innovative course after being trained on diverse business management strategies that enable them to transform their inventive ideas to successful businesses that contribute to the economic development process, and are consistent with Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030. In response to popular demand, the “Starting a business” course which is open to the public, will be offered to aspiring entrepreneurs on Abu Dhabi University’s Al Ain campus”, added Dr. Ibrahim.

Dr. Ibrahim went on to explain that the “Starting a business” course includes interactive workshops that highlight all the important components of starting and maintaining the success of a new business. “Participants will be equipped with the various skills they need to develop a business plan, understand the legal requirements for a business, decide on a business organization structure, select a location, acquire startup capital, as well as having a thorough understanding of daily managing, accounting, recruiting, purchasing and marketing activities”, asserted Dr. Nabil.

On her part, Rima Shaban Manager of ADU’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (ADU Enterprise), said: “The course aims to provide entrepreneurial education to aspiring entrepreneurs, and this goal is part of ADU Enterprise’s strategy which seeks to enable young entrepreneurs with the various skills they need to set up and successfully operate their own businesses and consequently participate in building Abu Dhabi’s thriving knowledge-based economy. This course was designed to help anyone planning to start a new business; it contains all you need to know about business planning, idea assessment, taking the first step toward starting your business, and many other business concepts that are presented through study cases in an interactive an innovative manner”.
