UNICEF donates school kits to Palestinian refugees
UNICEF Lebanon donated aid kits Tuesday containing school uniforms, school bags and clothing vouchers to some 3,400 Palestinian refugee children from Syria attending UNRWA schools in Lebanon.

The distribution took place at UNRWA’s Toulkarem School in the Palestinian camp of Burj al-Barajneh, in the presence of students, parents and teaching staff.

“Education is a priority for both UNRWA and the Palestinian refugee community and this will remain so, despite the ongoing humanitarian crisis of Palestinian refugees from Syria,” said Roger Davies, the deputy director of UNRWA affairs in Lebanon.

Davies thanked UNICEF for its support to UNRWA, particularly in light of the Syrian refugee crisis.

“We are fully committed and we support UNRWA’s efforts to ensure Palestinian children from Syria go back to school,” said UNICEF Lebanon’s deputy representative, Luciano Calestini.

In the past, UNICEF has also assisted Palestinian refugee children from Syria with in-kind donations.
