Murdoch University, Dubai Scholarship Challenge 2013 |
Following an inspiring 6 week campaign, ten shortlisted candidates were interviewed at the Murdoch University Academic City campus earlier this week. The lucky winners were Amanda Gordon from ADEC Boys School and Maria D’ Costa, a final year student at Our Own English High School, Al Warqa. Amanda will be joining the MBA class in September 2013 with a vision to open her own school whilst Maria will be using the opportunity to pursue her interest in IT with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.
Competition was tough as the panel battled to choose one winner. This year’s Scholarship Committee consisted of RJ’s Meghna and Zainab from Josh FM and Danny Cee, and Flo from the One Breakfast, Radio One. In addition, accreditation officer, Antoaneta Dimitrova and the Academic Director for the Murdoch Business School, Mahima Mathur were also involved in the decision making. The challenge was introduced at GETEX 2013 this year in a bid to educate students from all walks of life about Australian Education. Murdoch University, Dubai offers an internationally recognised Australian degree and is accredited by KHDA. The University’s renowned MBA program consists of students from a vast range of industries including finance, aviation and hospitality, to name but a few. Radio Partner Gulf News Broadcasting launched a student lounge to gauge interest amongst the working professional and find out what motivated them to gain their postgraduate qualifications.
