Police clash with Ansar Al-Sharia supporters
Security forces dispersed on Sunday a group of students members of the General Union of Tunisian Students (UGET) who were trying to gather downtown Tunis.

No clashes were reported, noted TAP journalist on site.

The presence of security forces has been reinforced particularly in squares and main streets of the capital and police patrols continued to tour the main streets of Tunis, TAP correspondent also noted.

The Ettadhamen, El Intilaka and "Omrane Superieur" neighbourhoods have experienced since Sunday morning clashes between security forces and supporters of "Ansar al-Sharia" who were reacting to the Interior Ministry's decision to ban the organisation of the 3rd congress of the movement in Kairouan.

The central city of Kairouan, specifically the area of Bab Jalladine, witnessed, in turn, clashes.

Police used tear gas to disperse protesters who were claiming the liberation of spokesman for Ansar al-Sharia Seifeddine Raies who was arrested Sunday morning in the region.
