Crescent Univrsity Disclaims Fake Admissions
Crescent University, Abeokuta, has dissociated itself from the website www.topix.com advertising supplementary administrations into the school.

A release by the school said the notice on topix.com was fake and the offer of supplementary admissions meant to "defraud unsuspecting admission seekers."

"The public are advised not to pay any money into private accounts of any admissions 'agent' as now being requested," said a statement from the school.

Its public relations officer Idris Katib said all enquiries about the school's 2013/2014 admissions be channelled through its website www.crescent-university.edu.ng or admissions office of the institution's registry.

Katib also advised the prospective candidates who made UTME national minimum score to visit the institution's campus at Km 5, Ayetoto Road with a N5,000 bank draft of any bank paid in the name of the university.

Topix.com is a forum that allows users to post announcements as a means of business. Among current posts on the site are announcements of application forms into nursing school, questions and answer sheets for NABTEB examimations, and recruitment forms for jobs with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps--all attached to private mobile phone lines.
