U.S.-Based Firm Wants Partnership With Universities in Liberia

Universities in Liberia
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Unique Enterprise Limited Liberia Corporation (LLC) has disclosed plan to work with several universities in the country. Mr. Daniel N. Kolubah explained that the LLC is a Liberian owned international logistic management and consultant firm based in Baltimore in the United States of America (USA).

Speaking at a news conference held at the Liberia Women Democracy Radio (LWDR) in Congo Town, outside Monrovia Wednesday, April 24, 2013 Mr. Kolubah named some of the universities of interest as the University of Liberia (UL), the United Methodist United University (UMU), the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) and the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University (AMEZU).

According to Mr. Kolubah, the country is still lacking behind when it comes to training facilities for Liberians who have already earned Master Degree in Business Administration (MBA). He said there are not advanced national research centers and much qualified instructors to handle such training. He said the lack of such facilities and inadequate qualified instructors have continued to limit Liberians business students' ability to compete at the international level.

When established here, the LLC CEO disclosed, it will help Liberians in the business sector by reducing the "illiteracy" rate and enhance small business sectors of the Liberian economy. "Our institution has decided to establish such training in Liberia because many Liberians seeking admission to universities in the USA are finding it difficult to pass the exams.

The inability of some Liberians to fulfill the standardized admissions test, which is the foremost requirement for international educational institutions, has been a big challenge for majority of Liberians. This, particularly, affects Liberians seeking admissions to graduate programs in the United States," he added.
