Dr. Mawugbe who doubles as the head of Department of Communication Studies at CUC, is also the Founder and the Executive Director of Centre for African Elections Media Monitoring Index (CAEMMI).
Dr. Mawugbe has extensive international and domestic experience in news discourse, analysis and media research and still provide consultancy services to various organisations in Ghana and other countries.
He has also supported, contributed, and promoted dialogue on the projection of Africa’s image and democratic development.
In 2002 Dr. Mawugbe was a Researcher in charge of Strategic Communication Planning, Media Development, Country, and Corporate Image Analysis at Media Tenor Analyze GmbH in Bonn, Germany. He has also worked in full capacity as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Media Analysis, an Independent Media Monitoring, Integrated Communication, Research, and Poll Agency from 2005 to 2010. He was the Former Director of Research & Media Monitoring at the National Media Commission.
In 2010 , he was part of the Pan African Media Conference on “Media and the Africa Promise” – Reflections on the past, present and prospects for the future: 18th to 19th March 2010, Kenyatta International Conference Centre, Nairobi, Kenya as a Panel member on the session topic Media Freedom: A balance Sheet.
He holds a PhD In Mass Communication (International and Intercultural Communication)- University of Siegen (Germany); MA In Culture, Place and Identity, University Of Derby (United Kingdom); Post Graduate Diploma in Media Planning, Development and Consultancy.
