The FCT Administration yesterday distributed learning materials to continuing beneficiaries of the scholarship award for the 2011/2012 award session.
FCT Secretary for Education, Mal. Kabir Usman, in his address at the occasion, warned beneficiaries of the programme that henceforth their performance will motivate FCTA to select them for further studies.
He also said that henceforth priority will be given to medical and environmental sciences, engineering, architecture and other science related courses in order to provide the required manpower in such crucial areas.
In her own remarks, Director, FCT Scholarship Board, Emcy Gayus Hamman, said one of the major problems of the board is the issue of how to identify bonafide indigenes of FCT as even non-indigenes parade indigeneship certificates issued by area councils.
She sought partnership, support and donations from all stakeholders to contribute to educational development in the FCT because education is an expensive enterprise which should not be left alone to government.
